Brief description
Length division devices are a common and widespread tool in the metal processing industry. On the market there are various standard solutions of such devices available. However, standard solutions are not suitable for every metal processing plant and some require a solution designed for their operation or for a particular product. Dimetix laser distance sensors can help keep the cost of a special model as low as possible as well as keep the construction simple.
The example described here (Picture above and to the right) shows a very simple and economical solution for a length splitting device tailored to the needs of the company.
Thanks to the free Dimetix software, the customer only needs the sensor and a digital display. A PC is only required for the configuration of the device.

EDS-C 30
The EDS-C 30 distance measuring device measures absolute distances up to 150 meters without contact on
reflective foil. Due to most innovative laser technology the EDS-C 30 has an accuracy of ± 3 mm.
The EDS-C 30 is an optical distance measuring device. It measures, maintenance-free, distances on natural surfaces
up to 65 meters. It determines positions of objects that are difficult to access or may have very high surface
temperatures. Just as easily, it accurately measures distances in hazardous environments.
The EDS-C 30 is designed to be suitable for both, heavy industrial and outdoor applications. It is constructed of a
solid metal case and provides class IP65 environmental protection. It represents a cost efficient solution even at
extreme environment temperatures as high as +50° C. Furthermore, various features make it flexible for
multiple applications in numerous industries such as automotive, paper, metal and textile.
